Museum of firefighters

In the monumental complex of the Ducal Palace in Mantua, welcomed by the Renaissance structures of ancient buildings, is a living testimony of the past of the Fire Department, with the first Historical Museum of this kind open to the public. An experience to retrace the technical evolution of the fire-fighting tools through graphic documentation, image collections and movies. You may feel, for a while, as if you are part of a world that is little known, but always animated by the courage and ongoing action of an army of fighters for life.

The collection includes several wooden wagons, steam engines, aerial ladders and over 20 engines machines. They were recovered, preserved and brought back to life by the Fire Department of Mantua, during the breaks between the hours of service.
